This pub has it all history being over 700 years old, outside dining area for the hot days to watch the world go by. Fantastic selection of exotic steaks served up on a hot rock, so you cant blame the chef if you over cook it !! But for beer drinkers its paradise with a selection of over 100 speciality beers from everywhere. Watch out for the 14% austrian beer. if you are in a group as we were try the 6lt st frulliam at 8.5% its a goer.

Very nice historic pub, serving very good food even though a bit expensive. The staff are very friendly and the South-facing terrace is right on the High Street, providing a fantastic spot to watch the world go by.

A beautiful building in the middle of Thame which is equally attractive inside. On a sunny day the garden out front gets quite popular and is a nie place to watch the world go by! The food isn’t as good as you would imagine and is definately more expensive than it should be. We actually have been turned away 2 times before on a saturday lunch time because we were a few minutes late which to be honest we werent that impressed with though! A mixed review really but we would go again one day.

One of the best known landmarks in Thame, the Birdcage is a big tudor style building that dominates Thame's high street. Parts of the pub date back to the 13th century and it does have a colourful history that you can read about near the bar.
It gets busy on a friday and saturday night, but has a small bar, so expect a bit of a wait.
The food is hearty and well prepared by a dedicated chef. The restaurant is seperate to the bar area.
It has a good courtyard area out the front for those warm summer evenings.
