2 reviews of 54 club in English
With a group of work mates, already a bit lagered up, we stumbled across this club and decided to give it a go. It was a £5 cover charge to get in, but most of us were busting to go to the toilet, so grungingly paid the fiver.
When we got in here its was pretty disappointing, small, smokey? with only a few guys in there, obviously waiting for some drunk birds to turn up. The drinks were extremely overpriced and I even had a "chat" to the bar tender about it. I brought a small bottle of Magners and it was £3.40 I think, thats how much a big bottle is everywhere else in England.
The only concession was is that the music was not bad.
54 is an overated place in commercial street that mixes up the drunk suits from liverpool street and a few deceived clubbers. it does offer some good nights , and shuts fairly late, but the fuss is not justified.
first, the place is too small. it is just tiny but without the allure of public life. the decor is just posh and the security guys are disturbingly on you looking to throw you out to have a laugh.
the lines are larger than life, and lenghty. it is not cheap to get in compared to the rest of places around the area and the music, though good, sounds awful in such an awkward place. it is overpriced to drink in there and the motive of 90% of the attendants is to score with a bird. defenitely not the place to go with yours and leave her alone for a second.
you'll find better places to go, trust me
