Polite and effective service. The room was very nice and used the limited space efficiently. Bathroom was of very high standard as was the bed and TV. Breakfast is good but not ideal value for money at 23 £. The gym is a nice addition as is the lovely decorated and cosy bar. The only annoying thing was the overly warm temperature in the room- although the AC did manage this eventually.

2 stars for Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten Hotel
Review of Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten Hotel from 5 June 2009

Small rooms that overheat quickly. I stayed here quite a few times- not out of choice (the choice is the Covent Garden Hotel next door).

It is centrally located and convenient for Soho and Covent Garden, but it is the sort of pace that is always disappointing in London, over promising, over priced and under delivering. Not poor as such just disappointing.

Review of Radisson Edwardian Mountbatten Hotel from 18 January 2008

I had the privilege of staying here for work purposese and it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I wish I'd stayed longer than the 3 nights I did, as there were lots of facilities to explore.

I had a single room, but the bed was enormous with a great variety of pillows and the softest, furriest throw I have ever felt. I've never felt more tempted to steal anything in my life! I had a TV which the hotel left message for me on, 2 phones - in case I couldn't be bothered to move from my bed/desk to the other one, and a funky wardrobe that lit up when I opened it. The heating was easy to control, which is always important for me as I am a very cold sleeper.

The ensuite bathroom was lovely but covered in mirrors, which made it a bit awkward going to the toilet and not knowing where to look! It also felt a little bit squashed, but it did have speakers and a volume control for the radio and TV so I could listen while I showered.

The staff were all very helpful and the bar seemed to be a really popular place on a midweek evening. There's a fitness suite as well, but I didn't get a chance to try it.

So why not 5 stars from me?
Firstly, my phone bill: £14 for a 6 minute UK landline conversation is extortionate.
Secondly, the lifts: they seem to have a life of their own and you need a card to operate them. I travelled all the way up and all the way down so many times!
Finally, the noise: it was quite noisy in the streets outside at night, although that's hardly the hotel's fault.

Conclusion: A great place if you're thinking of a night out at the theatre - they've thought of everything you could need, but be prepared to pay the price.
