TAUNTON IS A LOVELY TOWN WITH PLENTY OF CHARACTER IT IS A LOVELY TOWN WHERE TO COME & RELAX & HAVE A GOOD DAY OUT IF YOU LIKE SHOPPING NEAR BY IS THE WEST SOMERSET RAILWAY WITH GOOD BUS LINKS WHICH GOES FROM BISHOPS LYDEARD TO MINEHEAD IN SOMERSET

Taunton high street is actually fairly small for a town of this stature. This is because a significant number of the standard chain stores are located on the other main roads leading into the town centre. However, it's got a few good precincts and alleys off the main pedestrianised zone which help to strike a balance between the brands and the independent traders. Cafe Culture hasn't really fully hit the town yet, which is a shame as this area could be really pretty. Oh and legend has it there are magical gentleman's urinals which appear out of the ground at a suitable time upon the weekend.
