It has an excellent selection of beers, wine, spirits and cocktails as well as a full lunch and dinner menu of great authentic Thai cuisine.

Here we've got a pub with great selection of beers, cocktails, very central location and - tah-dah - authentic thai food. The green curry brought tears to my eyes - it's hot! Delicious. Price is fair: on lunchtime you can get a deal of 2 starters and a main dish for £8.

Pleasant place for an afterwork drink - friendly staff, comfy chairs, and when it's time to go, not too far from Holborn tube. I've walked past this place approximately a million times before popping in to catch up with a friend; I'll certainly be back, and can recommend the Beef Penang.

An array of custom designed, traditional lampshades adorn the ceiling of this 'nearly' West End, more like City boozer. Period wallpaper was certainly getting a good stripping when a gaggle of 150 lesbians descended at the bar last night, to shimmy to 'Carwash' and ogle a belly dancer, who was invited for a best friend's 30th bash. Cue an oestrogen overload, as overeager, pent-up, frustrated lesbians attempted to cop a feel of the luscious bell-licious lady, who was quite visibly having to belly-off some of the less lady-like in the all-enveloping crowd! January entertainment doesn't get much better than this.

It' s a nice restaurant/bar serving nice food, such a bargain for a huge portion of thai food. I have been there at least 8 times with friends but I never get dissapointed. It has also been refurbished recently. It' s good for a great evening with friends or a date for a young couple.

I live just around the corner from this place so it's one of my regular haunts! I've spent many a happy Friday afternoon in Brown Sugar enjoying some very nice wine and delicious Thai food - they do a very good offer, starter and main course for £8.50. My favourite is the chicken satay starter, served with a really tasty peanut sauce and chicken in black bean sauce; loads of chicken and crunchy veg served in yummy black bean sauce. The portions are fairly big so it's excellent value for money and the staff are always friendly, all in all a great venue for lunch with friends.

A good spot for an evening after work if you are meeting people in London Central. Near to The end, in High Holborn street, Brown Sugar is one of these modern english pubs with Thai food. I saw the menu and the prices and all look very appealing but i just went there to booze up, and it does the job quite well.
It was a little crowded, so all the good seats were taken and we had to stand up. Like that it misses all the point, but guess it is what is on Friday afternoon.
the staff was friendly and so was the people next to us. The decor was trendy. The prices were standard.
Next time I may try the food, i have heard it is ok. But i keep hearing pubs should serve English food…join the debate

I often drop by here after work as it’s one of the few places around Holborn where you can still book a table on a Friday afternoon. It’s really small and gets busy Thurs and Fri, but is usually quite quiet on other weekdays. Decor is quite kitschy, with a combination of tables with uncomfy wooden chairs and - if you can get them - big leather sofas and armchairs.
There’s loads of drinks choice, and I have it on good authority that the caiprinhas are “diabetes in a glass”. Some cocktails come in pitchers, and there is a happy hour early evening.
Food is the real pulling point of this place, though, and the reason I keep returning. If you like your Thai green curry hot and spicy and under a tenner, this is definitely the place to go. The black bean dish is gorgeous too. The sharing starter is good if you just want nibbles, and all portions are generous.
