During the day, this pub is relatively quiet, with an older crowd enjoying food and reasonably priced ales and bitters. However, in the evenings, most notably Thursday through Saturday, the pub attracts a younger, louder and livelier crowd. When the crowd increases, an excellent atmosphere is created, complimented by good music and very cheap prices. The Goose gets very busy around the student holiday times, no doubt the £2.25 doubles have something to do with this! The closing time is relatively early (around 11:30), so I would generally recommend going to the Goose before moving onto a club, for example, the nearby Tiger Tiger, Walkabout or Black Sheep Bar.
