They have an amazing level of variety and the colours of the different sweets just call to you. Personally I like their black jamen, which is a circular oblong shape. It is black on the outside but bite into it and its bright purple. It is very Moorish and very sweet. This is a great place for a taste of real Indian sweets and NO diets.
you may have wolfed down a number of curries already but you probably haven't tried the indian sweetery. it is indeed a very particular one.
not suitable for diabetes i must say as it is way high on sugar, the sweet pat of the indian food has a predominant place in alauddin.
this is a cosy small cafeteria in front of the ubiqutuos and sickening starbucks. unlike in the starbucks, coffe tastes great and is cheap. on the top of that, alauddin boasts a comprehensive collection of indian desserts, from the driest to the milkiest.
alauddin ia sound place to have a swift coffe when is too soon for boozing, or when, just like me, you crave on coffe all the day through. the place is relaxed, no-frills, clean and the staff is helpful and friendly, to the point of explain you all the stuff they have displayed.
give it a go any afternoon
