Dude this place has the best THE BEST cote d'boeuf in London.  Forget your Hawksmoor or Goodman or Sophie's this place does something to a steak and I can't fathom what.  It is simply mind blowingly good.  I'm up to one a month and I have to wait until next week, I feel like a kid on Christmas eve.

This place was recommended and we went with a group of friends on a Friday evening and had a great time. Probably a place I would usually have walked past and we would have missed out! Walking in it looked pretty cosy and we thought ok where are they seating 8 of us, after squeezing past a few tables we were led downstairs to a surprisingly open restaurant. Ordering was pretty mixed and I opted for the snails as a starter, lamb shank for main and creme brulee for desert. Snails I probably would't do again but that is due to personal taste, they were cooked in butter and were pretty good. The lamb was fantastic, rich in flavour and just melted in your mouth! Desert we shared, and really I should have had my own as we ended up spoon fighting for the last bits! Wine was flowing and the waiters were very good. Can't fault this place, great food, great service, will be visiting again!

I went to this place with apprehension - reviews were mixed, indeed evenly divided both here and on other websites. So I suppose I was lucky.

People had occasionally complained that the service is rude or indifferent, but they were nice and courteous to us (and no, I’m not French, even though all the staff and most diners are). The meal was very tasty and the price was moderate - though I probably wouldn’t call it cheap.

Portions aren’t very large even for something like coq au vin, which comes in a little casserole, so this leaves plenty of room for desert. The place isn’t large, bordering on cramped, so it is essential that you book your tiny little rickety table for two ahead.

I found it refreshing that the wine list isn’t wholly composed of French wines.

One of my biggest pleasures in London… THIS is a french restaurant! The menu is like a poem to your ears… The wine is a nectar! And the waiters know what they are talking about which is great. There, you will be able to try things that only the french have the secret of. Such as sweetbread, or amazing meat or pudding that melts on your tongue!!!
Really a great place, especially downstairs where there is that very nice and comfy atmosphere. I really recommend it for a date…
Let yourself be advised on the wine as well, they have a few great bottles there.
Definately one of my favourite restaurants of London. Pop in for a coffee too and sit outside enjoying the life like it is in Chelsea…
