I liked it! Oh YES! I don't want to go- I WANT TO COME BACK! I loved it! The hotel La Caravella is a very comfortable hotel ideally situated 5/ 10 (minutes) on the tramway or bus from the famous Duomo square in central Milan. The La Caravella hotel has only 3 floors with 3 bedrooms per floor. Also i must say that it's a small, quiet hotel. Small not being a bad thing in any way! Situated right near the centre of Milan the hotel has regular offers for nigthly stays- that is a night stay with breakfast for no extra cost. Being at this hotel is like being at home, you have your breakfast in the hotel kitchen. I promise you the kitchen is just like home, an open plan modern kitchen with glass on one side looking out onto a superb olive tree. Of course being in coffee country, if you do have a coffee you will inevitably be brought a capuccino! The best i have ever drunk! POSITIVE POINTS of La Caravella: - Simple but chic decor! With marble staircase. - The price is extremely competitive at around €25 a night for two with breakfast. - The location is ideal. - The staff are young, really cool and they speak a bit of french, a bit of english and especially italian! (smile). NEGATIVE POINTS: - The look of the front of the hotel. - The website which could do with a graphic makeover. It must be said that there are no negative points when it comes to the comfort! THE ROOMS ARE EVEN AIRCONDITIONED! - Imagine that for this price! For your information my family and me went last August 2009 with the low cost airline "Ryanair". During our stay it was between 35- 38 degrees. We were delighted. We didn't expect weather like that in the north of Italy. Milan is a gorgeous city but unfortunately it's quite polluted, i think because of the highly developped rail and road networks they have! Hopefully this information will be useful to you all. If you do decide to go to Milan and stay in this hotel, you mustn't forget TO VISIT - The famous DUOMO cathedral in marble of different colours - The Vittorio Emmanuel II gallery with it's luxury shops (Vuitton, Hermès, Mercèdes, Prada and plenty of other big Labels...). - The Milan station which is surely one of the most beautiful in the world with it's architecture, engravings and interior paintwork.
