I buy comics here because it is more conveniently located than Gosh! and less depressingly packed with tacky merchandise than Forbidden Planet. The interior is not as nicely presented as Gosh! or FP, but the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is that they sometimes sell out of new comics or recent issues faster than Forbidden Planet. Access to the shop is currently cut off by Crossrail construction: I don’t know if they have moved to a temporary location, or when they reopen, or even if they’ve shut down for good - worryingly, their website doesn’t seem to say either.
Not sure how I missed the fact that Orbital had taken over the space left behind when the Photograher’s Gallery moved, but I finally stumbled across it last week and was really impressed.
They’ve used the old gallery space really well and created a large, welcoming shop which has everything a committed comic nerd (or casual comic shopper like me) could want.
The staff were really helpful and friendly, there’s a massive selecion of back issues, as well as all the new releases… adn they’ve even got a mini gallery space at the back of the shop.
Might have te make this my regular comics haunt.

Nice little shop full of Anime collectibles. Great for last minute presents to suit all budgets. Prices are mixed for me, for example you could probably quite easily find cheaper prices online. But the staff seem nice and quirky and they hold regular book signings.

Great comic shop to browse. Hidden away and a lot less bright than forbidden planet. Staff are always helpful and there is a great array of stuff on offer.

A small store but a great one has a TON of little Nintendo toys & action figures, anime & manga ones, oodles of manga.. their site shows it off really well.
Apparently there are 3 different locations.
1. comics & collectibles. near st giles high st. (near tottenham ct rd station)
2. designer toys. over by old compton st
3. manga. upper st martin's Ln (near covent garden station).
