An excellent place, more so that it is hidden right at the back of Harrods (past the Krispy Kreme shop), so even though its good and popular, you don’t get random tourists clogging up the place.
Surprisingly for Harrods, tea is quite affordable at about £3 a pot. However, their tea is not their strong point in my opinion, but the Macaroons are amazing. Combined with the fact that staff are curteous and well trained, and that you’re free to sit there for hours to relax and talk, its a perfect afternoon tea place.
I will also add that it seems to be open till quite late, about 7 or 8pm on weekends, which is a rarity among tea places in London.

This is the place to indulge yourself after a great day of shopping at Harrods… mind the long queue though. They offer great pastries, macaroons, chocolates and a variety of tea and coffee. They serve ice-cream… For me… shopping at Harrods always follow with Laduree as the finale! Nothing more perfect than this!
Check out the intricate design, it changes decor with each space… I think there are 3 main sections when 3 different themes… I love the seating up the stairs… cosy and segregated from the rest!

Think of macarons, think of Laduree. My nieces and nephews love Laduree macarons as they are simply delicious and resistable. They come in different flavors so beware to have one too many.

Hello,
I was so relieved when Laduree came to London.
Ok, might sound very snobbish but before that to find decent french patisserie it was hard.. apart From Maison du Chocolat…
Sorry back to the subject: of course the macarons are divine, but the cakes a out of this world try rose St Honore amongst others, they come as individual cakes or you can order larger sizes.
Also for la “Buche de Noel” (Xmas cake) they are very inventive.
Finally for a posh lunch try their salads, not ordinary ones with lobster.
Totally love the place…

My husband bought me macaroons from Laduree, Harrods and it’s as good as the ones we had in Paris. However, the service is very different. The shop assistant in Paris was very friendly to us and the shop assistant who helped my husband in Harrods was exceptionally friendly. What a difference. Highly recommended

The macaroons here are exquisite. But being french, and being the macaroon experts you would expect them to be!!
The little cafe area at Harrords is the perfect setting - you can be served lovely tea in delicate floral china, and enjoy and perfectly proportioned macaroon (or two!) on the side, for a welcome rest for the bustle of the main shop.
Even if you don’t like macaroons, just seeing them lined up in their mulitude of colours is a sight to behold and is definately worth checking out if you are in Harrords!

Great venue to sit down after a hard days shopping or great to meet friends for a hot drink and something sweet. The hot chocolate is literally melted chocolate. It can get sickly so I usually share with my friends, but it’s worth it. The cakes and macaroons are delicious. I like the pistachio 'green’ macaroon. You can also take away your cakes, which are packaged really nicely in a box.

I have sometimes taken tea here, but only with friends who can’t resist the macaroons. As they are one the few pleasures I can resist, I have declined to report on my visits, but now that they have built out a lovely sunny seating area beside the south door (see photos), serving more substantial meals, I will undoubtedly be coming again with fresh interest.

Loooooooove the macarons :)
Went there for lunch with friends, and the bill came up to nearly £35 for each of us. We each had a low priced main, cake, coffee and macaroons!
I’m already itching to go back, but I’d skip the food and stick to the desserts.
Service was absolutely flawless. Timely, and precise. The waiter didn’t even write things down and he took a massively complicated order and got things not only right, but to their rightful destination (person) in the end too!
I am duly impressed and can’t wait to go back and swoon over those delicious macaroons…

I took my first trip to Harrods this past weekend and I was determined to 'do’ tea in the Laduree tea rooms on the ground floor. The beautiful selection of pastries, croissants and macaroons that are on display in the center of the tea room/shop further heightened my excitement and was a great distraction during the short wait for a table (very short actually given that it was a Sunday). I was sat in the posh black and silver room and only glimpsed the balcony seating area but it also looked as lovely as you’d expect.
There was a slight damper on the experience in the form of 3 loud 'fidgetybouncy’ teenage boys that seemed to have not given any thought to where they were, what they wanted, how they should speak to the waiter or how many people could come and go from their small table without disrupting their neighbors.. i.e. me. I can appreciate the fact that Harrods is for everyone (yada yada) but I hope to never again have tea next to ADD-afflicted teenage boys telling the waiter to “quickly hurry” their milkshakes.
Tea was lovely and I was happy to go a la carte rather than have the full afternoon tea experience. The mini almond & walnut laduree croissant was sublime. And the coffee macaroon, priceless!

This branch of the Parisian patisserie is both shop and tea rooms. It is most famous for its macarons (not to be confused with English coconut macaroons), which come in a range of flavours, some seasonal. However, there is a whole range of inventive patisserie as well as pastries and, in the tea room, light meals. The choice of tea blends is excellent, and the coffee very good.
You can enter from either Harrods Food Halls or the street doors. Inside, the counter is backed by shelves of incredibly pretty cake boxes as well as teas, candles, and chocolates. This room and its balcony have seating; there is also another room decorated dramatically in black and silver.
Service is pleasant and helpful, if sometimes a little aloof, and the food and drink here have been consistently very good. Prices are high, however, and the approach can sometimes seem ungenerous: the afternoon tea is over £20 and includes sandwiches, pastries and cakes but when I had it with coffee, I was brought one cup and charged extra for a second. Such quibbles aside, this is a charming place to treat yourself to an excellent morning coffee or afternoon tea.
