Friendly and prompt service. But oh, what a boring pizza. This place really makes you feel the full distance between London and Italy

Review of Italian Graffiti from 15 December 2009

A good default pizza destination to know about if you're in Soho.

It's not new, trendy, cool or posh, but it does the job, and the job is cooking hearty Italian fare to a good standard and not making you pay through the nose for it.

I imagine this place has been here for 20 years and will still be there (exactly the same) in 20 years time, and sometime you just need somewhere you know you can go and grab a good, inexpensive pizza and a decent bottle of red.

Review of Italian Graffiti from 21 November 2009

Italian Graffiti was a very pleasant surprise. I had been walked past this restaurant many times and decided to go there last night. The menu is varied and the food is fresh. I had a lovely calamari to start and both me and my girlfriends Pizza's were excellant. The toppings and the base were very fresh. The menu has a good range of Pizza's , pastas and met dishes. I had the tiramisu afterwards which was lovely and looked home made. The bill with a water and a glass of wine was 34 pounds with service not included. I was very impressed and the restaurant was very busy with a constant flow of people coming in , I can understand why. There was a lovely open fire and service as good. the restaurant had character and the toilets were clean. I will be coming back to Italian Graffiti.

Decent pizza in a killer location on Wardour street. The service last night was friendly and quick and my Americana pizza was very good. The wine list here is slightly limited and very chianti heavy, but it's adequate.

This isn't the best pizza place in Soho (try the Soho Pizzeria) but it does the job.

Review of Italian Graffiti from 10 July 2009

The name and signage suggests a modern and funky place, opposite to what you find when you cross the threshhold - it’s not a bad decor, actually it’s quite cool in the very traditional black and white Italian style photos, beige and pinky walls with a fireplace and overly Italian motifs. But no funk.

The menu is simple with a half half split of pizzas and pastas. It’s the type of place you come to before or after a show, not really make a whole night of. I was most impressed to be looking for a nibble at 11pm last night to find it still doing dishes so note it down for after theatre/movies.

The prices are decent for central London but still not being given away at £8 and I did find the pizza we had a bit mediocre - it was ham and mushroom and while cooked well, it was begging for some herbs or something to make it a little tastier.

I might go back here to grab a quick meal of convenience, but you can do better for pizzas in central London.

Review of Italian Graffiti from 20 January 2009

Good value for money pizza/pasta restaurant. Daily specials.

The pizzas are the size of dustbin lids and the pasta dishes are also good sizes.

There are italian film posters on the walls, and a fireplace at the front. The staff are always very friendly and service is quick and efficient. Not surprisingly it is very popular with the local workforce. Good for small groups, nice, reasonable wine list.

Great restaurant to go to before or after a show. Pizzas and pastas are really tasty. Puddings were divine - especially the banofee pie. Service is friendly, quick and polite. Prices seem so reasonable for London.

Review of Italian Graffiti from 18 November 2008

My husband and I stumbled across this small quaint italian restaurant when walking off the beaten track (so to speak) along Wardour Street - just off of Oxford Street - and thought we would give it a try.

Due to its location and size it is a very intimate place to visit and I good choice if you fancy something romantic. However, if you want somewhere nice to chat to friends without of the chatter and clatter of some larger restaurants then this would be a good choice too.

The food arrives quickly and appears very authentic, and is very good money. I would probably even be prepared to pay more than they charge.

Service has always been efficient and staff seem to enjoy working there.

Decent Italian restaurant. Large menu, and the prices are right. Not much of a vibe, though.

What a wonderful littl;e Italian restaurant. With a wide selection on the men, a small, intimate atmosphere and well prepared food, this is a plesant place to stop.

Quiet enough for a meeting, it is a bit small with it feeling cramped at times. Larger parties will find it not possible to sit together with the meandering lay out.

It is a fun place for a couple, or a couple of couples.

Review of Italian Graffiti from 29 January 2008

Italian Graffiti is hard to review for me because I’ve been here twice and my first experience was great, whilst the other was disappointing. It was my friend’s birthday and she reserved a table right next to the fireplace, which was very fancy. We were a group of 10 conversing over red wine and Italian gourmet meals, such as pizzas and pastas (with Italian names,) which were very good. However, my second visit with my partner was completely different. We were seated in another area, which felt like we were sitting in a budget diner from America. The restaurant has been around since the 90’s and we were surprised that Clive Anderson regarded it as his favourite restaurant in Soho. I have to disagree with him there, because somehow the food didn’t taste nice that time round. The food was bland and non-sophisticated. I was very disappointed since I was looking for a romantic spot to take my lover, which ultimately failed. He liked the wine, but had his high hopes shattered since the place looked like it was very authentic Italian. How misleading!? So if you go in, make sure you ask to be seated near the fireplace. My general feeling is that the place you sit in this restaurant reflects your response to your meal, so make sure it’s the fireplace, otherwise leave. The walls are filled with framed photos, drawings and adverts from Italian culture 1940's, which was nice. Shame about it's food. The price averages around £8, but now I know I’ve had better meals before, which were worth it and Italian Graffiti’s meals are clearly not.
