Jack the Ripper Walks, London

The Jack the Ripper Walk goes every night (except Dec. 24 & 25)
at 7.30 pm from Tower Hill Tube. And it also runs Saturday afternoons at 3 pm. And why go with London Walks? Well, as Fodor's Great Britain put it, "London Walks was the first - and is the best - of the walking tour companies."

Jack the Ripper walks are a fantastic way to find out about this killer that stalked London streets and women.

Starting at Tower Hill tube station this walk finishes around the area of Spitalfields market. In between you are shown where victims were felled and get a feel for what London in days gone by was like.

The tour guides are experts on London history and particularly Jack the Ripper.

I would recommend doing the walk when I did which was on Halloween as everyone dresses up in costumes and gets into the spirit of it all.

Was this scary? Not for me but then I'm very tough.

There are different tour guides operating and conducting similar walks and there seems to be animosity and tense competition between them. Tour guiding is a very cut-throat business these days.
