I had a fantastic evening with my friends here. The drinks are a little bit on the pricey side however it has an electric atmosphere and the music was good.

50% drinks on Wednesday evening was a welcome change from the typical pricing policies around here. Interior was pleasant, service a little slow considering how quiet it was. I would potentially come back with friends or colleagues and make a night of it, but as a place to have a drink, it’s perfectly adequate.

Went on a Thursday night for dancing. The city's big night out? Oh.
One big group and several small ones kept the place reasonably busy but not packed, but all determinedly kept to their own groups and generally the vibe was fairly.... missing, really! You make your own fun here because the crowd and the music ain't going to do it for you.
The music was mainly commercial pop but seemed to have no direction, the DJ seemed to be hiding in his corner playing whatever he found in his cd box more or less at random - hardly guaranteed to get the crow moving!
Quite a few drunks and lots of dropped glasses - the poor guy with the mop was busy all night. However, no trouble or fights.
Didn't feel obliged to cut it fine for the last tube home and have just one more dance.

Another pretty pointless nightclub that has ideas above it’s station. Very popular with after work types who have more money than taste and who enjoy mixing with other people who have even less taste , before they get the central line back to some chav ridden place in Essex. Personally I wouldn’t bother, actually to be more precise I can’t think of one night club in this area I would bother with. On the bright side it is better than the truly truly terrible Thai restaurant / night club across the road.

Apt has left gastro-pubs in the dust and taken modern British food to a whole new level, couched in sex-in-the-city cool.
The lounge bar design is super-chic with black leather finishings, steel and slate tiling. When you walk in with your power suit and stilettos, it feels right, and the crowd reflects this although miraculously remain unpretentious.
The venue caters for everything, with a good lunch menu of gourmet sandwiches and salads; a dinner menu of traditional-British-food-with-a-twist; a great selection of cocktails and a dance floor that gets quite busy once everyone lets their hair down.
You might think this a metro nightmare, but it is stylish and composed and fit-to-purposeā¦

Apt is a cocktail lounge/bar/club in the middle of the city close to Bank.
The crowd tends to be office/bank workers from the surrounding areas and is busy on a Thurs or Fri although recently alot of business has been taken away by Abacus on Cornhill and Revolution on Leadenhall.
I have visited Apt only twice and have not gone out of my way to re-visit. I felt that it lacked atmosphere. Set on two floors, the bar on the top floor gets very busy as it is only small and downstairs in the cocktail bar there is seating and lower ligthing. Both times I have been we have headed straight downstairs. The cocktails are good and it is relatively cheap. Now open on Saturdays as well.
