Amalfi on Old Compton Street is a brilliant little Italian restaurant which provides good quality food and decent prices. Their pizza's a huge and they certainly don't skimp on their toppings.
Spread over two floors, with an outside area which is fine during the summer but only for masochists in Winter, it is a cozy little place with great service and, although it is very popular, especially with the pre-theatre crowds, there is usually no need to book.
The greatest thing about this restaurant is the downstairs dining area which spreads underneath the street and has many little chambers and seating areas perfect for group booking. With candles and good wine it is also a great place to take the person of your current dreams and the price won't bankrupt you so all in all it's a definate winner.
One of the best places for casual dining in Soho.
