Café Rouge, is another chain restaurant that works. The menu is strongly French influenced, and not overpriced. Two starters, main courses wine and coffee came to about £60, including tip.

This particular Café R. is large, with a room upstairs that can be booked for parties for up to 120. The service is friendly, although not always quick. It is in Hays Galleria, which is a pretty old dock where tea used to be unloaded, and there are seats outside of the restaurant in the Galleria. Really is a very pleasant place to eat or simply stop for a drink.

Portions are about right. The food is reliable, although last time I was there my steak was slightly overcooked and the espresso wasn't as warm as it could have been. My other experiences have been very good.
