John Lewis isn't just another department store on Oxford Street. If you only have the lunch-break to spend shopping in central London that's probably the only place you need to visit. They have everything, from top designer fashions and upholstery to crafts and stationery, and challenge you to find the same items at lower prices anywhere else. If you do, though, and can prove it, they will refund the difference! Their staff tend to be unusually polite and helpful too, which minimises shopping stress.
