First off I want to tell you Oxford Street is massively overrated. It’s a clone high street: loads of big name shops you can find anywhere. It’s not pretty at all. It’s overcrowded. The only shops that are really something you won’t find elsewhere in Britain are the tourist outlets. And there’s only so many places you can see selling things with picture of the Big Ben, the Royal Family and Tube maps on them before they get reeeaaalllllyyy boring…

I want to tell you it’s massively overrated… but… On the other hand there’s the HUGE HMV, HUGE Virgin, HUGE Borders…. Hennes, Dorothy Perkins, blah, blah, blah. Any chain snack bar you could want. I think as a tourist attraction it sucks, but for serious shopping, you can’t help but get sucked in occasionally.
