The Khao San Road is the Gateway to Southeast Asia. It is the perfect place to start traveling. You will find lots of cheap but quite comfortable guest houses (my recommendation would be the D&D Guesthouse, if you manage to get a room there), travel agencies, shops, restaurants, bars and backpackers. It has always been by first stop in Southeast Asia because it is so easy to go to other places from there.
