I have hesitated about writing this review, because I think this place is so good, that I’m reluctant to tell people about it.
From the outside, it looks like a food-poisoning certainty, and even as you go in, there is no glitz and glamour to the place, just faded yellow walls and simple torn tablecloths.
BUT this is what makes Formosa so special. It is real, authentic Chinese cuisine, Westernised obviously but it really does feel like a noodle shack in Shanghai, and I should know, I lived there.
Family-run, exceptionally friendly, and with the best Chinese food I’ve tasted in London, I have no idea why I can ever get a table. Forget the tourist trap of Chinatown, head out to Fulham and get the real deal!
