I first went to The Cornerhouse Cinema in 1990 when I took my partner to see Moonstruck as part of his birthday present. 18 years later we’re still together and visit The Cornerhouse at least once a week. It has been a meeting place for a great many of our friends over the years.
You can always be guaranteed to see a good film. Either showing independently or as part of one of the great film festivals frequently featured. I have seen many of my favourite films over the years. When All About My Mother was showing some years ago, I fell in love with it so much that I went almost nightly.
We are very lucky with The Cornerhouse in Manchester because they show many films that would otherwise not be shown.
The food and drink on offer is very good too. There is always a featured beer and of course special music and quiz nights in the bar and restaurant areas.
Added to all this there is the book shop to browse and the galaries always have something interesting and educational on display.
It is somewhere nice just to pop in for a coffe and watch the world pass by on Oxford Street as well.
