How’s this for an idea. Build a brewery from scratch. Build a bar around it + restaurent. In terms of beer only serve the stuff you make. Sounds crazy? maybe but my gosh it works perfectly.
I love this place!
It looks like a set from DR WHO and the food you’d be hard pushed to equal in a decent restaurant. There’s two beer gardens (well ones a lage balcony, the other is at the side and is a paved area with seating) Both are lovely in the summer and with the smoking ban firmly in place it’s nice to be able to choose your location for a quick smoke.
The big draw is the beer, there’s five on tap including:
Pils: a decent beer that will keep any lager fan happy all night.
Wheat Beer: a tasty wheat beer not to dry and a wonderful straw colour.
Pale Ale: My personal favourite an american style beer as good as anything on either side of the pond.
Black Lager: Strong in flavour but not a killer on the alochol front so have a couple, it’s very good.
Speciality beer: My only problem with the sepciality beer is that 99% of the time it’s mango beer, which is very nice, unusual but nice, however far to common here and the novelty does ware off. On occasion they do do a fantastic rasberry beer and i’m told in late autumn / winter they’ll do a apple and cinammon beer - I have yet to see this though.
The food is pretty much pizza or mussels but they’re done with such care and attention in the open kitchen that you don’t need anything else. This pub is worth a night out or three I could quite happily live here given half a chance.
