I used to live in the apartments over this pub, so many’s the night myself and my flatmate would head down for some cheap and cheerful drinks and a few games of pool. I’m not sure what it is about this place, but it always seems to be empty - there were the odd few groups of students, but never any problem with finding a seat! Sometimes, the service was great - quick and friendly, with some good banter going on - and other times, I’d be faced with a complete dragon on an off day. Still, though, it has pool tables, and an entertaining pub quiz on either Monday or Wednesday nights. They nearly always have drink deals like two-for-one or cheap pints, too, so it’s a great place to go the few days before payday!
