Good value and decent hotel with large rooms and friendly staff. It’s near the Andel area of Prague, which has a small shopping centre and a number of reasonably-priced bars and restaurants. It’s less touristy than the centre, and so is a rather cheaper area in which to eat and drink, but pleasant enough all the same. It’s a quick tram ride into the centre, and another tram will take you up to castle area.

The bus station immediately in front of the hotel could do with sprucing up, but it seemed perfectly safe at night, and a metro exit comes up right by the main entrance. A plus (?!) is the view of the Staropramen brewery behind.

Both bedrooms and bathrooms are reasonably modern and well equipped, and there’s a buffet breakfast which has hot dishes as well as the usual cereals, rolls, cheeses and cold meats. (The hot dishes can include sausages or goulash - a bit odd for us Brits at 8.30am, but the locals seem to love it).

It’s not luxury accommodation, but is decent for the price, and I would happily stay here again.
