Compliment

The V&A is one of my favourite places in London. I like to go alone, on rainy Sunday afternoons, and spend ages staring adoringly at the costume exhibits as if I’ve not seen them dozens of times before.
I hear there are other things on show - glass, musical instruments, scuplture, stuff like that - but to be honest I rarely get past the 1947 Dior Couture, unless it’s to go to the cafe in the amazing Morris, Gamble and Poynter Rooms. The V&A is the perfect museum for people who don’t usually visit museums, because the exhibits are beautiful and accessible. You don’t really have to know about art or culture, you just have to recognise beauty.
That said, there’s plenty for the more astute visitor too (and I jest, I have been round the whole place, more than once). Just remember, don’t go during school holidays!
