I don’t think this place is owned by Arsenal’s Gael Clichy, but I am sure even he would not turn his nose up as this place is really unique and a pretty cool bar to visit.
Unlike many French bars and restaurants this place is the proud stockist of 15 draft lagers from around the world. Beers take centre stage at the Chilcy Tavern. All the wall space is taken up with posters and promotional material for beers of every nationality. They stock bottled beers from 30 countries. The deal I took advantage with offering a pot of mussels and a large beer for 10 Euros was fantastic value. Service was brilliant, the other food I saw come out like Pizza and pasta looked good and I really enjoyed my visit. I love the way that even though there was an upstairs I sat in the (very warm!) conservatory front borrowed from the street. From there it was great people watching and daydreaming as the rain hit against the window…very Paris I thought.
Worth a visit if you want a beer and a snack around Montmartre, Pigalle, Moulan Rouge and the 18th Arroundissment. Oh and if you see Gael at the bar during the off-season say hello from me to the Arsenal and French International full-back.
