The Cochrane Theatre is a drama college theatre, part of the University of the Arts, so students perform there. It looks like part of a college, a modern building on a busy street corner by Holborn. I went recently to see “Twelth Night” and it was really enjoyable. I had a hangover and was grumpy, but the performance was excellent and really accessible. There were lots of school children, who were pretty quiet (although the ones behind me clearly had no idea of the plot - perhaps they should hand out summaries for non-Shakespeareans). I was slightly cross because the theatre bar did not serve healthy drinks or sandwiches, but that was the hangover talking. The theatre was comfy and the seating area sloped so one could see. The staff were friendly and helpful too.
