This is one of the smaller B & Q stores, a mini warehouse in fact rather than a superstore. Nevertheless this branch packs a punch. It recently went through a well thought out refurb which opened the place up and drew you towards goods as these places should.
The reason I like this store so much (over the much larger superstore in Stockport) is that you can pretty much pick up anything and everything, only occasionally having to travel further afield for certain items.
Not only that but they seem to have doubled their workforce over the past few months. I used to go in here and I’d be lucky to find anyone who worked here (admittedly I was drunk, had broken in and it was 3am in the morning…). Now however, it’s run like a military operation and you’re actually asked if you require assistance (and in these places I usually do need a bit of advice to be fair, whether it’s electrical, garden or building tips). The service is second to none here and the staff run rings around you in their endeavours to resolve any of your queries.
I tend to use local independent suppliers for most hardware items but there are times when this store just can’t be beat - their range of barbecues, lawnmowers et al is an example of this.
This store also has a small garden centre out back - again, although relatively small it carries many items.

If you ever watch TV’s ‘real life drama’ ‘Neighbours’ be sure to check out Toadfish (or Toady to closer friends) who works in here on occasion. Despite being in international star he’s as down to earth as the rest of the staff.
