Compliment Rob Hinchcliffe (15-05-2008) 4

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, in fact it resembles a run down Northern chippy straight out of an Alan Bennet play or a Shane Meadows film, but bloody hell can they make a mean curry.

There’s nothing fancy going on here, just a big menu on the wall with a pretty decent range of options: lamb, chicken, veggie plus rice, dal, samosas etc etc.

I went for the lamb and spinach plus some dal and then walked a little faster than usual back to my desk, spurred on by the smell coming from my little tin foil box.

I was not disappointed: tasty, just spicy enough and a decent sized portion. Really really tender chunks of lamb too, which for a takeaway where you’re paying around £4 is pretty damn good.

Definitely going to make this a regular lunch destination when I’m in need of something a bit more substantial and tastier than a butty.

just looked at your views on a takeaway, this does not reflect on how a northan takeaway looks like as it does not have boards on the windows. ha ha lol.
