The main town on Hvar island is Hvar Town. Although this is not the ‘capital’ it is the largest and most well-known resort town. Except for the famed fishing, sailing, herb-growing and honey-production, there is not much else on the rest of the island.

Hvar town itself is known as the ‘party’ town of the islands, but as all these things go, you need to make sure you’re there on the right nights!

The island is steep sided, with a small atoll of islands on the western side to visit for ideal beaches. The towns are traditional Croatian resorts, so there are large hotel complexes and celebrity focussed fashion and eateries.

The island is easily accessible from Split and Brac. There is a lot of accommodation available - although private accommodation is harder to find here than on the other islands.
