Might seem a little strange to venture into this new-ish shop if you’re not a pie eater, but curiosity got the better of me… Intrigued by the fairly funky red-and-white decor and modern logo, I was interested to find out more and to see if I could get a decent, reviving cup of coffee here. Service was very friendly and they were more than happy for me to look-around and leave with just a drink.
The black coffee I came away with was good and strong - Fairtrade - freshly-made and favorably priced, in comparison with surrounding outlets. I can’t vouch for the taste of the pies or sandwiches but they looked freshly prepared with a good choice of both mainstream and quirkier combinations.
There’s also a small clean-looking, white eat-in area with a bar ledge but most customers will probably find it more practical to buy and go. The riverside and towpath - with plenty of bench seating - lies just a few steps away, across the road.
