The Fountain is OK. I mean it has plus and minuses. It sells good cheap pub grub John Barras style with offers and special often on. The staff arent much good, the toilets rather unpleasent and not the cleanest I have ever encountered. The location is pretty central on a major roundabout between Raynes Park/Wimbledon and Kingston. It is on the new malden high street and down the road from the railway station and has a lovely long beer garden.
It is always easy to get a seat here, unless….South Korea are playing a football match.
Yes, you did read that right. If KOREA are on, you might not get in unless you are in the Fountain one hour before kick off. That includes the garden. In the 2006 World cup the Ambassdor was here, the TV were provided and sponsored by Samsung. the crowd screamed everytime there was a chance, so apart from Korean footie games, this is a locals pub where you can get food and a pint whilst watching sports for under a tenner.
