QYPE*

This is our local branch of an expanding chain of stores (based in Tortosa) selling products under three brands: Cadena Llums, Yuka and Burbuja; covering lighting, furniture, home accessories and bathroom accessories. It's hard to miss as, apart from the amazing name (which includes all three brands!), the logos are in lurid colours - dark blue, shocking pink and lime green.

The main reason for coming here is for its choice of light fittings, at comparatively reasonable prices. The Spanish like their lighting, and the shop carries a huge array of styles, from the nice, clean and simple to the astonishingly elaborate and gaudy, with matching sockets and switches. I had never seen green and gold baroque electric sockets until I came here. (Fortunately for us, there was plenty of choice in stainless steel and brushed aluminium, too.)

The staff were helpful and friendly, and recommended a local lighting fitter (they don't provide this service themselves). That was the weakest part of the chain, as he failed to keep the first appointment, although did turn up for the second, and did the job OK. Plenty of parking available at this out-of-town location.
