Champers, just behind Canarby Street is a great little place to eat and drink in the centre. It's been a regular haunt for three years now and I've never been dissapointed.
The restaurant is always very lively and as it's small, it gives it an intimate feel, but not claustraphobic. There is a downstairs, but I've always prefered the atmosphere upstairs, so book ahead and ask for a table above rather than below. Decor is cosy and traditional with hundreds of paintings on the wall.
You can't really go wrong with the food and I do recommend either the oysters or the chilli squid for starters. Wine is fantastic here and be prepared to look through a thorough menu of it.
