If you're looking for an ordinary department store where you can find a range of goods at a range of prices, then Harvey Nichols is NOT the place for you. If, however, you're looking for a shopping "experience", then you will LOVE this place! Just take loads of money because you'll need it, even if you plan on buying "something small." The place is currently decorated for the holidays and it's simply stunning! I LOVE the windows and the elaborate displays that make you feel like you're part of them! Plus, I LOVE the doorman! When I see him, I think, "AHHHHH, Harvey Nichols!"

Harvey's is the quintessential place for designer items and the salepeople are more than happy to help you spend your money (they've driven me a bit crazy on occasion because they can be a little overzealous) even when you're not quite sure you're ready to part with it. In addition, the cafe on the fourth floor is GREAT. It offers tasty food, food gifts, and a fabulous view while you're relaxing!

So...if you're in Edinburgh and want to feel like part of the "it" crowd, I highly recommend going in! If you're looking to treat yourself or someone else to a bit of luxury, then this is the place. But if you're just looking for a cheap jumper, stay away. Harvey is not for people who don't like to part with large sums of money!

Oh...and say HI to the doorman. He's soooooo awesome!
