A very large branch of this retailer which is part of the Arcadia fashion group. It is very easy to get to, being right in the heart of the city centre and virtually next door to the Metro stop at Monument and Blackett Street bus stops. The store itself is quite large and over three floors. It can be accessed both from the main street and also from inside the Eldon Square shopping centre. The store is clean and tidy with an extremely youthful feel. At the weekends, it is often crowded with teenagers and the clothing reflects this. Stocking mainly very high fashion pieces, the prices also tend to be towards the higher end although they do sell nice jeans and footwear. There is also a menswear section.

For value, you really cannot fault this store - it sells fantastic discounted designer labels at bargain prices. This particularly branch situated at Kingston Park on the retail park is well located close to the A1 and Kingston Park metro station. There is quite a large car park serving the retail park, although at busy periods it can be quite full, however the nearby Tesco extra has a large car park just over the road. There are a couple of disabled spaces, but not many. The store itself is laid out over two floors selling toys and household items upstairs. Downstairs is the fashion range and there is a fantastic selection of ladies wear. Because everything is end of line, there is often not the item you are looking for in your size, but there is a good choice from classic pieces to higher fashion items and reduced items can be down to just £2 or £3. There is a good range of shoes and bags also.

A fairly small branch of this famous ladies fashion retailer, it is spread over two floors with stairs between the two, which would obviously prove difficult for anyone with mobility issues or those with pushchairs. It is located near the centre of town just next to Monument Metro station and just down the road from Blackett Street bus stop, so it is well linked to public transport. The store itself has a lovely range of higher end high street fashion which has more of a classic feel than high fashion. The clothing is often something that you might see at a garden party(!) and is ideal for something for a wedding or special occasion. This branch stock a small range of bridal wear, which is very good value for money. The evening dresses stocked at this branch are lovely and the quality of the items are lovely however the prices are quite high. There are only a few changing rooms, and because of the narrow layout of the store, it can get quite crowded at peak periods.

This is a retail outlet branch of this famous retailer and items are sold at discounted prices. Therefore the range is a bit hit and miss, and you cannot guarantee that they will have what you have gone for. They do have a bit of everything, a little bit of footwear, underwear, some menswear, a small amount of childrenswear, but mainly ladies fashion. This, as you would expect, is mainly classic pieces. Being mainly the ends of lines, there is not always a full range of sizes, but there is a good selection of the Per Una range, sometimes with very large discounts. The shop is located on a retail park which has ample parking and is easy to get to. It also has a small coffee shop selling snacks, hot and cold drinks and sandwiches and there are also customer toilets.

Evans is a ladieswear store. It offers plus size clothing, accessories and wide shoes. It is one of few shops to offer this range of sizes, which is its unique selling point. I have very wide feet so often go here for shoes, although sometimes they are even too wide for my great big slaps of meat :S They are part of the Arcadia group (which includes Topshop, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins, Principles, etc) and their pricing is similar to those. They are not the cheapest shop around but they sell nice quality items and they offer a standard 10% student discount if you produce a valid NUS card at the checkout, which is great as every penny counts! Their sales are good - they sometimes reduce all their jewellry to £1 per item and I often come away with several pretty necklaces and rings. Granted they are costume jewellry so don't fare well and sometimes turn your neck green, but for £1 each you can't complain even if you only get a couple of wears out of them! The staff are also very friendly - I have often had them check local stores to see if they have had my size in.

A large branch of this clothing chain which sells a lovely range of clothing for the younger end of the market. I would say that their range is aimed primarily at those in their 20s to 30s but the prices are quite high end. This branch is over two floors and has a full range from jeans to smart clothing. The clothes are of good quality and comprise some classic pieces such as smart trousers to more high fashion items. As for location, this store could not be in a better place. Located in the centre of town, right next to Eldon Square shopping centre, close to all public transport from buses to Metros, it could not be easier to get to. Because it is on two floors, it could be difficult for the less able to get access.

A conveniently located branch of this well known shoe store. It is located close to public transport links, near the metro station at Monument and also close to bus stops at Blackett Street. The shop itself is in a pedestrianised area. It is quite a small store but has a good range of Dune shoes. Dune shoes are of excellent quality and style and they have a good choice of shoes, sandals and boots depending on the season. There are some classic styles, although the range tends to focus on more fashionable lines. The selection of shoes tends to be for a younger professional crowd although there are some items there for an older shopper. Prices are quite high, although that would be expected from this range.

This is an easy to find shoe shop, which is right in the heart of the Eldon Square shopping centre. It has a fair range of shoes from mens, womens and childrens ranges, although their prices are quite high. They tend to have quite a classic range of shoes and I would say that the style is more appropriate for a middle aged market. They do have a good range of wedding shoes, and it was where I got mine. Where this store really excels is in its childrens department which is downstairs. The staff are very pleasant and friendly, and for the most part are skilled at dealing with wiggling children! The range of childrens shoes is good and comprises StartRite and Clarks. The downside is that there is often quite a long wait for shoe fitting as it is a very popular place for people to take their children and at the weekends, it is very crowded downstairs. Also, as the fitting department is down quite a long flight of steps, it is difficult to maneouvre using a buggy.

This is a high end high street branch with a gorgeous clothing range from size 8 to 16. This is a small branch of the store, but it does have quite a reasonable sized range of clothing. There are changing rooms, although these are small in number and hidden at the back of the store. The staff are quite polite and all wear the chain's clothing range. The type of clothing featured in the shop is predominantly smart to evening wear. Ideal outfits for a special occasion or a wedding, they sell a beautiful range of quality dresses and skirt/top combos. They have a particularly good range of corset type tops and prom style dresses. They have a smaller range of smart casual clothing, tailored trousers and skirts and smart tops and shirts. Definitely not something for everyday wear, as the prices are quite high for a high street chain, but for the quality of the items, for a special occasion, or if you have the money to spare, they are well worth it.

A standard city centre branch of Barratt Shoes. This isn't a particularly large store, but it does stock quite a range of shoes from sandals to boots. On the weekends, this store can get quite crowded as it is right on the main thoroughfare through town, although that does mean that it is extremely easy to get to. Although it is in the middle of the pedestrianised zone, it is within easy walking distance of car parks, metro and bus stops. On a Saturday, you can wait for a while before a sales assistant will come and help you. This shop have both classic style (with a modern edge) and fashionable shoes and is average value for money. There are often reduced shoes at the front of the store which are good value for money. The shoes are nice quality.
