Boundary Hotel - Leigh
436 Manchester Road
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 2NP
The Boundary is a very local pub, quiet and a bit boring, not much goes on there and there is not much atmosphere, just a lot of older folk drinking and chatting. I think they do Karioki there occasionaly but not many people get up and sing just the same faces etc. I did go there once at New Years eve and it wasnt too bad, not the best pub in the world but the drinks were cheap and the staff friendly. They have a duke box, so if you want to liven the pub up a bit it will cost you. They do have rooms upstairs that they let out for functions, but you have to go up and down stairs to the bar, no really convenient. (bexterbear, 07-12-2008)

tino's - Leigh
St Helens Rd
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 3PA
Tinos is an absolutely lovely Italian resteraunt the food is fantastic, a little bit pricey but well worth it, you do have to book for a table in advance as it does get booked up quickyly with it being so popular. We had our christmas party there and it was very nice, the food was perfect and table and room set out lovely, the staff are so helpful and cant do enough for you, We stayed seated and they brought over the drinks and we did not have to wait very long for the food or drinks to be served I would definately recommend going to Tinos for a romantic meal for two or with a large party, I can honestly say I have visited about 8 times and never had a bad meal there, I have always enjoyed my visits. Waterfields Leigh - Leigh
117 Bradshawgate
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 4ND
Waterfields is a lovely old fashioned traditional bakery, very clean and fresh, it always smells nice when you go through the door, it is well known for being the most expensive bakery in Leigh, but it also tastes the nicest, so you get what you pay for. They also make the most beautiful birthday/wedding cakes to order in many beautiful designes, there are so many to choose from you cant go wrong. They do hot pies and pastries and lovely sandwhiches, cakes, and their fresh baked bread is delicious too. For that special occasion they do have a fantastic buffet menu at quite reasonable prices. Dickens - Leigh
4-6 Charles Street
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 1DB
Dickens is the best hairdressing salon in Leigh, it has been going for such a long time and is well known for the best cut and blow around, they do charge very high prices but it is a top salon with the best stylists, if you want a perfect hair style Dickens is a must. If you decide to have your hair styled by Dickens then please remember to book early, especially at Christmas because they do get booked up very quickly and you could have a few weeks wait for an appointment. The shop itself is very bright and pleasant with large window frontage and they have an excellent range of hair products on display to purchase. (bexterbear, 07-12-2008)

Cannings Video - Leigh
1 Gas Street
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 4PD
Bit of a mish mash shop, in here you can find dvd and games for rent, then games and dvds to buy, preowned games consoles and hardware, and if that wasn't enough, also computer hardware and software. Have often found imported games for the nintendo DS in there which is always interesting as some you can't get over here, or in some cases, can buy them before they are realise in this country. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, one even let me buy a postman pat dvd that was up for rent after my 2yo spotted it, can't say fairer than that! Its a bit out of the way on Gas street, but worth the effort. (madriggie, 27-11-2008)

The Hilton Arms - Leigh
6-8 Twist Lane
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 4DA
Nice pub, decent pint of Guinness to be had (and thats the most important thing right?) Patrons seem to be on the older side, which is not a bad thing of course, but I've often felt the youngest one in there at the grand old age of 26 (and the only woman in there apart from the girl behind the bar..) Often have live music in of the decent sort, the drink is nice and cheap, its overall a nice little pub and one I enjoy going in regardless :-) (madriggie, 27-11-2008)

Obsession - Leigh
2 Silk Street
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 1AW
Obsession Hair Salon is situated on Silk Street in Leigh town centre. There are car parks around the town which are pay and display and the bus station is close to the town centre. The Salon front is attractive and has character, it is clean and well maintained. You enter the salon through a door which leads to a flight of stairs to the left. The salon is on the first floor and is modern, clean, up to date and has seats by the reception area. There are magazines to read if you are early. There are two Senior stylists and one Junior stylist. All are accomplished and skilled. On arrival you are welcomed warmly and your hairdresser is informed that you have arrived. You will have a seated consultation before going through to the salon. If you are having your hair washed you will normally recieve a lovely head massage as well............bliss and well worth going for. There are two hair washing sinks and you normally lean back into them. There are about 6 cutting areas and all have comfy seats and mirrors. They normally offer a drink too. The cut is of a very high standard and the styling if great. I am always very happy with the results and the stylists work with you listening to what you want, you can take a piccy too if you like...they like that. The atmosphere is nice and you normally enjoy a good chat. Overall a wonderful experience of pampering and very highly recommended. The salon is handy for the shopping area of Leigh town centre and also the Spinning Gate centre, shops include...New Look, Dorothy Perkins, Argos, Woolworths, Superdrug and B&M Bargains..........an Aladdins cave of bargains galore........ railway road post office - Leigh
40 railway road
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 4AT
The sub post office on Railway road in Leigh is situated half way down Railway road in Leigh on a corner position. There are car parks around the town which are pay and display and a good bus service, also you can park for up to 30/40 mins on Railway Road in the designated spaces. The shop front is attractive and clean and clearly displays the post office logo. The window displays are relevant and attractive. Inside the shop is clean, spacious and well maintained. There is a photocopier for use at a small cost and cards, sweets, small gifts and packaging products etc are available at a reasonable cost. The counter is at the rear of the shop and offers a good range of services, it is always well staffed and is a very popular post office that is very much appreciated in the area. The staff are very helpful, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The post office is serving the local community well and we are very fortunate to have it as the main post office in Leigh can be a trek and quite busy. One of my favourite post offices I can Highly Recommend Railway Road Post Office in Leigh. (dmouse, 21-11-2008)

Bella Cafe Bistro - Leigh
51 Railway Road
Leigh, Greater Manchester WN7 4AA
I love this place. A large group of us go here every single year for our Xmas meal - I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. It's extremely good value for money and the food it top class. The manager Rufus is always welcoming and very helpful. It is usually £19.95 for 3 courses and half a bottle of wine, but it may be a bit more expensive in December. (alisonbartley, 02-10-2008)
