“ I booked a trim at 3D and decided at the last minute to have a radical change in style. I was very bad at communicating what I wanted but Hannah interpreted perfectly and explained what she was doing so that I could describe it to other stylists. However I ended up going back to 3D where Gail also did a brilliant job. Don't be put off by those over-sensitive souls who gave bad reviews; at 3D you'll be given sound advice (listen to the experts!) and a professional, original cut that would cost twice as much elsewhere. “ I've only had the food from this place as a take away/delivery, and not actually dined in-house.The food is excellent, though sometimes the curry dishes aren't what I'm used to (the aloo chatt has no chickpeas, and the saag panir has very small pieces of cheese in it.)  But everything that I've had has been delicious. The meats have been tender, and the curry sauces haven't been overwhelmingly spicy, though they are on the rich side.The prices are very good, even cheaper than some run down carryouts in town. (X. “ The hotel was more expensive than it should have been for what it is. The location is pretty decent, being not far from the station, but I expect more for sixty a night for a single occupant.I think the much needed heating made me a bit grumpy. The unit was very noisy and it wasn't until the last night that I realised that I could use a plug in a stand-alone radiator.Place was perfectly friendly. Just overpriced. “ I absolutely love this hairdressers, it is the only place i will go in Scarborough for my hair cut. You get what you ask for and i am always very pleased with the result. It is good value for money as well, i am always suprised when it comes to paying as i am expecting it to be much more than it is. “ You can queue for ages just to get a table at the large Betty's, or you can pop into 'Little Betty's'! The atmosphere is more cosy coffee shop than restaurant as at 'Big Betty's', and therefore seems friendlier and more relaxing!The staff are lovely, very helpful, and still smiling even after a day on their feet dealing with customers, not all of whom are sweetness and light!This is the one place that I will pay a small fortune for a cafetiere of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.....£5-95 at my last visit...........it's worth every penny. I could have said it was worth every bean, but didn't like the pun much!As you can expect with Betty's, it's not cheap, but it is wonderful quality, so do yourself a favour when in York and desperate for a really good coffee, avoid the Starbuck's and Costas's and head for Little Betty's!!! “ This is a tranquil oasis of calm amidst all the hustle and bustle of York. Sitting inside is great, but if the weather's good, sit outside if you can get a table because it's a very relaxing and pleasant spot to take the weight off your feet whilst enjoying a refreshing drink and/or something to eat.We almost always choose their cheese scones, fresh, hot and buttered, thoroughly delicious!It's also the best place in York for a pot of Chamomile tea, which as I'm not a drinker of India/SriLanka/China tea is my beverage of choice! There many places serving Chamomile tea, but not of the quality served at Earl Grey!The ladies lavatories also lift your spirits, bright cerise pink walls at my last visit, also very clean!You can queue outside Betty's with the world and his wife if you wish, and you'll get a good drink and something to eat there, but those of us 'in the know' go to Earl Grey! “ Really clean and friendly, felt totally comfortable! Turned up on the Tuesday with a few ideas and by Wednesday afternoon had a beautiful tattoo. My boyfriend who was with me was unsure about what he wanted but found a design as I was getting mine done, he loved the design and within two hours he had a tattoo too, and for a discounted price! “ As you walk into Kebir house you immediately enter the reception area but there isn't usually someone at the front desk. The staff usually come out from a back room and are happy to answer your questions. I feel that every time I have had to leave my pets with them, they have been well cared for. The treatments are quite expensive in my opinion, but I have never been to any others so I have no other figures to compare with. Something I didn't like was that there is no separate waiting area for the different animals. When I have waited with my cat (which is stressful enough for her) we have had to wait with dogs which upset both my cat and the dogs. As this is a small practice I don't think that they would be able to accommodate a split waiting area. (nemmernossage, 19-11-2008) 3
