“ Going to Halseys for Sunday brunch or a hot roast meat sandwich on a Saturday was always something we enjoyed, until a few weeks ago when our Sunday brunch experience was terrible due to the poor service we received. We wrote a review on here detailing our experience and the owner quickly responded to our review apologising. He stated that they had had some staffing issues but commented that wasn't an excuse for the dreadful service we had encountered and assured us he would be dealing with the issues raised.Everyone can have a bad day and so last week we decided to give Halseys one last try for Sunday lunch. What a difference! The service we received was welcoming and efficient, exactly as it should be. Hopefully our previous disappointing trip was a one-off and issues have been resolved and all our future visits will be as lovely as the last. If you do go for Sunday brunch I recommend both the delicious goats cheese omelet and the really excellent bubble and squeak! (robdprince, 13-10-2012) 4

“ Having used this pub at lunch times during the week and had found it very pleasant and the food good, so I thought I would give it a go on a Saturday afternoon, never again will I make that mistake, I couldn’t hear myself think for half a dozen idiots swearing at the top of their voices and generally being a pain in the a**e. it must have been really of putting for the people trying to eat their meals having to listen to these people. “ Not been to the Gym for many years and I wanted to get back into shape. I'm not a fan of the big glossy gyms and wanted something a bit more down to earth.Found this on the web and it's only a 5 minute walk from Hitchin Station, so I go to the gym in the morning or evening after commuting to work.Really nice team and I've had lots of help and advice. “ As stated earlier, i am a business man and i staty at the Priory 3 to 4 days a week. The place is great; staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is good and the place is really clean. I have stayed at numerous places in the area including Letchworth Hall, Lister and the Travel Inn but eventually left because of unfriendly non-interested staff. Unlike the Priory. Even the chef greets me and ask me what i want for dinner! The problem with most review sites is that unhappy people will make negative comments, competitors will do the same and happy customers won't bother, they'll return. I will return to the Priory. “ Molly Malones is my local pub and I love it. It's a proper pub in my opinion and, as the name suggests, run on a bit of an Irish theme. It's situated on Nightingale road a little out of the centre of town but is well worth seeking out. The staff are very friendly, the beer is good and the whole atmosphere of the place is great. They show the footie when it's on and have live bands from time to time plus events such as party night on Halloween and New Year etc. It's not a particularly big place so it can get a little crowded at peak times. There's a little courtyard out the back for smokers but you couldn't really call it a beer garden. Parking can be problematic around here but there are soem free parking slots across the road next door to the petrol station.
