“ I visited this pub a couple of times during the Summer. This pub sells lovely food, and has a carvery on a Sunday which is delicious. There is a lovely outdoor area at this bar. It is a family friendly pub, more of a restaurant than a bar really. There is a wide choice of food menus. Drinks are quite expensive compared to local bars. The service I received here was great and the staff were all very friendly. It is quite out of the way of any other shops and bars so you would have to know it is here to visit. “ A great little country pub. It is a good place to come and eat if you are very hungry. The menu here is quite extensive and beware the portions are huge. There is an excellent choice of fish and everything is home cooked and fresh. They have a quiz night once a week that is extremely popular and are now doing a Thai night once a week. This is the local’s hangout but you will be made to feel welcome. My only criticism is that they could do with turning down the lights in the evening. You need sunglasses on to visit here at night. With a bit of nice mood lighting this would be the perfect pub. Well worth a visit. The food is delicious. (debcottis, 19-11-2008) 5

“ The Castle Hotel in Eynsford is a traditional style pub on the main high street in Eynsford. From the outside it does look very pretty, just the sort of place you would want to pop in to for a swift half if you happened to be passing. The interior of the pub is traditionally decorated, a little on the dark side and could do with brightening up a little. It has a nice open fire which does bring some charm to the place. it has a pretty beer garden, and has been known to have occasional live entertainment. Prices are about average for the area and the atmosphere was ok but not overly friendly, service was about average. (Dizz, 26-01-2009) 3

“ We had a 2-storey side extension and internal modifications to our existing house built by S M Berry Building Contractors Ltd (SMB) between July and October 2009; we are extremely pleased with the results. This was a major project for us and, initially, we had some concerns about undertaking such a substantial amount of building work. We gained confidence in Scott from our initial meeting, his prompt written estimate and revisions (requested by us as we finalised our requirements). Scott was always prepared to discuss the estimate in non technical terms so we were clear about what was, and was not, included. We were offered, and we followed up, references from SMB’s previous clients and we were given a consistently reassuring view of the firm’s capabilities and trustworthiness. Having selected SMB we were confident enough to defer the start of the build while SMB completed their previous project rather than use a different contractor. From Week One it was clear that the references were spot-on. Scott, Elliot and Jed arrived at 7:30am on the date agreed some 3months earlier and began work: from then on until completion of the project the team were on-site every day. This is Scott’s ‘single-project’ approach in action and it works well. Our neighbours remarked about the team’s friendliness, their constant hard work and how the site was always brushed and left tidy at the end of the day. Scott does a great job of managing the project: he made helpful suggestions on some design points that helped the extension to blend with the existing house. In our opinion the quality of the finished work is very good. We are extremely pleased with the results and from early in the project it was clear that Scott was keen for us to be happy with the build. As we re-iterated to the team that this was a major, one-off project for us but Scott, Elliot and Jed ensured the project was relatively stress-free insofar as any major building work can be. SMB completed the project to our complete satisfaction, on budget and 10 days ahead of the target date we were initially given. We are happy to recommend S M Berry Building Contractors Ltd to potential clients who are looking at this type of project; we will act as references for SMB as we know this is an important part of the client’s decision and Scott has our contact details. “ I recently moved to the area and when I went into the restaurant the staff were ao friendly and accommodating! I told them I was new here and they were going to give me my meal for free as a gesture which i didn't allow but theb they insisted on giving me a bottle of pop on the house!
