Wessex Water - Nailsea
Bristol BS1 2AN
Have been with Wessex Water since moving house in September '09. Wessex Water failed to get the initil setup sorted despite numerous phone calls, emails, letters, etc. Their organisation skills leave much to desire. Something which had particularly dissapointed me is that as a result of Wessex Water incorrectly taking a direct debit (which was admitted as being their fault but they now deny it) I have suffered a bank charge and dent to my credit rating (particularly annoying as I'm applying for a mortgage at present, though morgage has still been accepted). Although the fee is only £8, I'm more unhappy about the principle of a large company like Wessex Water being able to rip off its customers who have no choice as to who provides their water. I would like to advise readers not to use Wessex Water, yet sadly there are many who have no choice. (tombullock, 14-06-2010)

Toy Box - Nailsea
61 High Street
Bristol BS48 1AW
Sadly, the Toybox has closed down...nearest toyshop is now in Clevedon :-( (Mark146, 08-10-2009)

nrogalska That is a real shame as it was a nice one... Thanks for the review tho Mark - we were going to go there today and it would have been a wasted journey!

Mark146 It is a shame, the toyshop in Portishead has also closed down. I guess this is due to the supoermarkets selling toys and people using the internet more...sad.

The one in Clevedon is still there and further afield, the one in Weston-s-Mare is good.

cheers

Mark

Real site: http://www.nbrfc.co.uk/ Good club with come excellent facilities - bar area is a little compact (when you get a lot of people in it)...but great atmosphere and very enjoyable. Good training for kids/mini-rugby and lots of interest. Great coaching and mentoring for the younger players too. A really great bunch of people. (Mark146, 08-10-2009)

They take great care over the batter, it's always crispy and light, the chips have a good clean taste, palm oil is used for cooking. The food is always excellent. Portion sizes and prices ok. (yetaotherdave, 27-11-2008)

Christ Church Nailsea C Of E Church - Nailsea
Christ Church Close
Bristol BS48 1RT
Christ Church, to me, was the greatest church on earth purely because the reverend would always visit my primary school with various stories that always surrounded Jesus Christs likeness to Superman. Being obsessed with Superman as a child, I found it incredible back then that a man nearly ten times as old as me knew who he was. Since leaving school, and finding faith in other places, I still respect the church and love the building for being an iconic part of Nailsea. Its a beautiful piece of history and always fills me with nostalgia and will always be a place that provokes great memories of being at school and learning about what religion meant to me. Nailsea Library - Nailsea
Somerset Square
Bristol BS48 1RQ
Nailsea Library is an underused and absolutely essential part of the community, providing hundreds of people with free computer courses, internet for old folks and those without computers, textbooks for children, music and games to teenagers, and lots of comic books to me. I spent a lot of my childhood having trips here with my parents putting my library card to full advantage, getting out spot the dog and digging through piles of books to find tintin and the occaisonal asterix. They've got a surprisingly good DVD library, and I've always found the assistants to be very pleasant. This is an invaluable asset to Nailsea, and a great free resource to take advantage of. Bakers Nailsea - Nailsea
36 North Street
Bristol BS48 4BS
Bakers Nailsea, placed near Nailsea & Backwell Rugby Club at the end of Queens road, is a great local butcher that offers a huge range of different meats that can be bought in any cut you want. They are very flexible in the different meats they have to offer and can order in just about anything - they also offer great mixed grill packs for barbecues and mammoth sized turkeys for christmas. Though its been a year since I visited, they used to have fantastic pies that were packed full of meat and absolutely lovely. Being a great friendly local business, Bakers Butchers really do offer an excellent service, the size of which is difficult to find elsewhere. If you're having a barbecue or looking for a giant turkey, then give these guys a go. (Paulverine, 15-11-2008)
